Legacy Mentorship Program
Sunday March 29th // After Second Service
The Legacy Mentorship Program seeks to facilitate intentional relationships between older and younger Christians, for the greater purpose of leaving a legacy of faith for the next generation. Here at Faith Church, we have a number of high school students who desire to have an adult Christian come alongside of them. We also have number of adults who desire to come alongside of teenage students to help them in their faith journey. But these two groups don’t know the best way to connect with each other.
That’s where the Legacy Mentorship Program comes in. It is our desire to use this program to kick-start these connections, and give a bit of structure to ease into the process. But our hope is that the relationships continue well past the extent of the program.
The Legacy Mentorship Program is an 8-week program built around a book study. We will begin on March 29 with a kick-off lunch meeting after church. Adults and students will be paired up and will work out their own schedules for getting together to meet. The goal is to go through the book “Battling Unbelief” by John Piper. Each person will need to provide their own copy of the book, available here. Adult-student pairs can set their own pace in going through the book based on their needs.
Adult mentors will need to fill out the volunteer information sheet with references, and sign the authorization for Faith Church to conduct a background check. Students will need to have their parents sign an authorization form permitting their child to meet with another adult in this context.
If you have any questions about this program, please contact Bryan Bell (bbell@faithchurch.net or (513) 831-3770) in the church office.
