The Wisdom of God: Seeing Jesus in the Psalms and Wisdom Books by Nancie Guthrie

Leaders: Debbi Allan and Laura Kingsley | Links for the book: Amazon LifewayChristianbook

Wouldn’t you love to be wise and know the God who is Wisdom himself? This 10-week study of Job, Psalms, Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, and the Song of Solomon mines the Wisdom Literature not only for wise principles for living, but also for the wise person these books point to through their drama, poetry, proverb, and song―Jesus. Bible teacher Nancy Guthrie provides clear commentary and contemporary application of biblical truths found in the Wisdom Books regarding: how God guides us; how we can make sense of our suffering and our dissatisfaction in life; how to deal with our uneven emotions, our need for security, and our longing to be loved. Gain a fresh perspective on the Wisdom Literature, a broader understanding of Jesus as the fulfillment of Scripture, and much more, when you join with Guthrie on this incredible journey to see Jesus in the Old Testament!

Acts: A 12-Week Study (Knowing the Bible) by Justin Holcomb

Leaders: Mary Norton and Christina Liebing | Links for the book: Amazon LifewayChristianbook

Acts is a historical account of how the resurrection of Jesus changes everything through the birth of the early church. What was it like at the beginning of the Church? How did it expand exponentially and geographically over a period of about 30 years? How does Acts showcase this expansion as the culmination of what God has been doing since the beginning of time? Join us as we discuss these and other questions about this longest book in the New Testament.

Amos: An Invitation to the Good Life by Jennifer Rothschild

Leader: Sandy Deel | Link for the book: Amazon Christianbook Lifeway

Amos is often called “the prophet of doom”, but he promoted the God-life, which is in fact the good life. Every condemnation he spoke serves to us as an invitation to “seek God and live” (Amos 5:4). Come to live an assured, faithful, chosen, humble, justly, prayerful, and hopeful life. This kind of living will bring us and others around us peace and true prosperity. During this eight-week study with video, uncover the connection between the God life and the good life, learn how God’s care for us prompts us to care for others, break hope-stealing habits to reverse self-defeating choices and unearth the gems hidden within one of the most overlooked books in the Bible.
