SESSION 2: 10/27 – 12/22 (8 weeks)
Plan to join us as we continue our In Community focus for our Adult Sunday School classes beginning, October 27. View the classes and register below.
Biblical Friendship In Community
This class is all about building a vision for Christian community that moves beyond platitudes and empty promises to deep, scriptural, Christlike relationships. We’ll be focusing on how we are all both ‘needy’ AND ‘needed’ as we seek to walk with others in wisdom and love.
Taught by Ryan Holman & Geoff Cornwall
Book: Side by Side by Edward Welch
A Counter-Cultural Community
We live in a culture today that has undergone dramatic shifts in a remarkably short period of time. As Christians, we have to avoid the temptation to both isolate ourselves and assimilate ourselves to the culture around us. This class will help you process what it looks like for us to be a community committed to faithfully engaging the world we live in without losing the Gospel.
Taught by Mike Zender & Gregg Stout
Book: Onward by Russell Moore
Counseling One Another In Community
Ever wonder where to start in terms of offering wise counsel to brothers & sisters in Christ, but weren’t sure exactly where to start? This class is all about training you to help others in a way that offers more than worldly wisdom, and instead equips you with Gospel-Centered training on one-another ministry.
Taught by Dick Lehman
Book: Gospel-Centered Counseling by Robert Kellemen
Book of Ephesians (Part One)
The six chapters that comprise the book of Ephesians are rich with the grace of God towards us. And not only that, it highlights how that same grace has formed us – and is continuing to form us – into a healthy community rooted in Jesus. This class will be a ‘deeper dive’ into this wonderful New Testament letter. Join us for part one during this session!
Taught by Bruce Chester & Joe Francis
Book: Christ Centered Exposition Commentary on Ephesians by Tony Merida (Recommended – not required)
