Understanding And Addressing Anxiety In Our Kids
March 29 // 6:30-8:30pm // Student Ministry Room
Faith Church is excited to host Dr. Walt Mueller for a virtual parenting seminar Monday evening, March 29, from 6:30-8:30pm in the Student Ministry Room. Dr. Mueller is the founder and president of the Center for Parent/Youth Understanding. For over 40 years, he has sought to strengthen families by helping those who know and love children and teens to understand today’s rapidly changing youth culture. He writes on youth culture and family issues and is the author of nine books, is a regular contributor to a variety of magazines and journals, is a blogger, and host for the Youth Culture Matters podcast.
For this seminar, Dr. Mueller will be talking about anxiety and how it affects kids today. Because they’re growing up in a perfect storm where developmental, relational, and cultural pressures have converged, our kids are experiencing anxiety and mental health issues at epidemic rates. What is anxiety? What can we do to ease the stress in their lives? And, how can we help guide our kids into responding to stress and anxiety in ways that bring honor and glory to God? In this practical and hope-filled seminar, Dr. Mueller will launch parents on a journey into understanding and addressing the growing tide of adolescent anxiety.
While this is targeted toward parents, we would invite anyone who interacts with kids to join us. If you are a grandparent, caregiver, family member, teacher, volunteer, or just someone who loves kids, you are invited to join us.
Dr. Mueller will be joining us live via Zoom, but we are meeting in-person at the church. We will have a quick time to go over a few details and announcements before the Zoom portion begins. Following the seminar, Dr. Mueller will be available for questions from the group. If you are not able to join us in-person, you can join the Zoom call. The link will be available on the church website. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Pastor Bryan in the church office
