We are doing something brand new for our junior high camp this coming summer. We will be attending Generate Camp, part of ym360, a trusted ministry aimed at resourcing churches to serve students. Every summer, ym360 hosts 20 different Generate camps at 14 different locations around the country. Most of these camps are held on smaller college campuses, where they are the either the only, or at least the largest (by far) group on campus. These five-day camps engage students in large group teaching times, worship, games and other camp activities led by the Generate staff. While we can expect over 750 students at camp each week, our group will be together the whole time, and will do our own small group Bible studies in connection with the large group teaching time. More information about Generate can be found on their website, https://generatestudents.com.
We will be attending the Generate camp at Wake Forest University, in WinstonSalem, NC, June 17-21, 2019. We will stay in the dorms, and eat in the school’s cafeterias during our time at camp. We will meet at Faith Church at 6:00am on Monday, June 17. We will return Friday, June 21 in the evening. As camp gets closer, we will provide you with more detailed travel information.
The cost for this camp is approximately $425 (final price depends on total numbers, travel costs, etc) with a $50 deposit due no later than Sunday, November 18. We cannot add students after this date, so please don’t delay in registering.
There will be a camp store where students can buy T-shirts, music, books, and many other camp resources. Students will also need money for a fast-food meal on the way to camp, and another on the way home from camp. Packing lists will be made available as we get closer to camp.
This camp is open to any student entering grades 7-8 in the fall of 2019. We are very excited for our first trip to Generate Camp. If you have any questions, lease feel free to contact Pastor Bryan in the church office.
